LargePrinting.com, a digital printing company, embarked on a rebranding journey as they relocated to a newly renovated historic building formerly known as the Kansas City crime lab. The objective was to develop a fresh logo and brand identity that encapsulated the company’s dedication to cutting-edge technology and meticulous attention to detail while paying homage to the building’s unique history.

Objectives

  • Create a distinctive logo that reflects the brand's unique and innovative spirit.

  • Develop a cohesive brand identity across all marketing materials.

  • Optimize social media channels and website to enhance brand presentation.

  • Design custom wayfinding signs for the physical location.

  • Prototype custom packaging for customer sample books.

Logo Development & Brand Identity

The logo design was crafted to be both playful and professional, ensuring it would attract prospective customers while remaining aligned with the business's ethos. A unique color palette was chosen to deliberately avoid the traditional CMYK scheme commonly used in the printing industry and set LargePrinting.com apart from competitors. To complement the new logo, a set of branding and marketing materials was developed. Clean and modern design elements were incorporated, channeling the company’s technical capabilities and high-quality service. The visual language utilized a contemporary sans-serif type and dynamic layouts that catch the eye of customers.

Each department received a tailored business card design that not only highlights its specific function but also maintains harmony with the overarching brand identity.

Digital Presence

Social media platforms were overhauled with professionally designed headers and custom photography, along with engaging copywriting that articulated the brand message. A new website was developed, showcasing the company’s services and portfolio effectively. The design focused on user experience, providing easy navigation and online ordering to highlight LargePrinting.com's innovative solutions.

Wayfinding and Directory Design

To facilitate customer navigation within the newly renovated space, custom wayfinding signs and directories were created in collaboration with LargePrinting.com’s production team. These designs not only serve a practical function but also promote the diverse range of print production techniques the company provides.

Custom Merchandise & Prototyping

To further engage clients and promote brand awareness, custom merchandise was created for internal and external use. Items such as pens, notepads, and stickers were designed with each department’s specific branding elements, ensuring that staff and clients felt a connection to the brand. I also worked with the production team to develop a promotional packaging design booklet that showcases not only their technical capabilities but a sample book of substrates commonly used in their industry.

The promotional merchandise not only served practical purposes but also acted as conversation starters, reinforcing the organization's values and mission during events and community activities.

Photography

I supplied a comprehensive range of photography services to enhance brand visibility and engagement. The product photography captures items in vibrant detail, showcasing features and textures that attract potential customers. Equipment photography highlights the advanced tools and technology utilized, emphasizing the quality and capability behind the printing services. Employee portraits provide a personal touch, reinforcing the human element of the business and fostering connections with clients. Additionally, social media material was crafted to create compelling visual narratives that resonate with target audiences, ensuring that the brand remains at the forefront of consumer minds in a visually driven market.

Results

The rebranding initiative has resulted in a noticeable surge in interest and demand from new customers in the surrounding area. The cohesive brand image helps LargePrinting.com differentiate itself within a competitive landscape. The combination of an innovative logo, strategic marketing materials, fresh photography, and an optimized digital presence contributes to a strong first impression both in-person and online.
